What is Soft Tissue Surgery?
Our Soft Tissue Surgery service is home to a team of board-certified surgeons who provide consultations and perform procedures on all types of surgical conditions, with the exception of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Our surgical services are available to the public without a referral, as well as through referral by your primary veterinarian or another service area at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. We work cooperatively with our referring veterinarians, as well as other areas of our hospital, including Emergency Care, Critical Care Unit, Small Animal Internal Medicine, and Zoological Medicine.

How Can We Help You?

Some examples of surgeries we perform include:
  • Minimally invasive surgery
  • Reproductive surgery
  • Abdominal surgery
  • Thoracic surgery
  • Upper airway surgery
  • Head and neck surgery
  • Neurosurgery
  • Surgical oncology
  • Wound care and reconstruction
Typically, you will be referred for evaluation of one of these surgical conditions following a work-up by your primary veterinarian or another service within the VTH.

How Much Does it Cost?

The cost of your pet's treatment will vary greatly, depending on the type of treatment and severity of the condition. Since every case is unique, it is best to speak with your veterinarian about the cost variables present for your particular case. Your veterinarian will always provide a fee estimate for you at your appointment. Visit the hospital's Financial Information page for general payment information.
