Volunteering gives undergraduate students and others in the community a chance to benefit from the hospital’s resources and experience working with animals.
Volunteers are placed three times during the year (fall, spring and summer semesters). If a need arises, placement of volunteers may also take place at any time during the semester. Applications are kept only for the semester for which you are applying and you need to reapply each semester if you are not placed.
Requirements
- One semester commitment to volunteering
- Minimum 10 hours per month during normal business hours (Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m.)
- Minimum age of 16 (applicants under 18 years of age require consent from a parent/guardian)
- Personal health insurance
- Background check
