The annual Veterinary Teaching Hospital Open House features informational lectures and demonstrations, as well as tours of the hospital, student exhibits, a mock surgery for children, a petting zoo, and more!
The Open House is free and open to the public.
Do you have a stuffed animal that has been feeling under the weather? Bring it to the Open House and our Surgery Club will operate on your little buddy. Our students will actually cut and stitch a heart into the stuffie, so you might want to bring an old stuffed animal or a new one just for this purpose. There will be bandaging and other options for kids who don't want Mr. Snuggles to have an incision.
Tours run from 9 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. and start every 15 minutes. They are first-come, first-serve, and fill up quickly!
If you have a group of 8+ people, please schedule a tour by contacting Kelsey Bustos.
Please do not bring your animal to this event. You will not be permitted to tour the hospital.
Closed-toe shoes are recommended for this event. Visitors will be asked to step on a footbath to ensure footwear cleanliness and prevent the transmission of disease.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping every person and animal safe and healthy!
