Professional Master's Programs Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I Start?

Visit the website for the individual program in which you are interested. The individual program website will provide details about the program requirements, curriculum, application procedure, deadlines and contact information.

When is the Application Deadline?

Biomedical Sciences - April 1

Microbiology-Immunology - April 1

Toxicology-Environmental Health - July 1 for Fall, Nov 1 for Spring

How do I Apply?

The application materials required for each of the 3 programs are fairly similar, however each program has different application deadlines and different contact people. See the individual program websites;

Are Foreign Students Eligible?

Yes, foreign students are encouraged to apply to all of these programs. Foreign students must supply additional application materials and are not eligible for resident tuition for the duration of the program.

How Many Spots are Available?

This depends on the program.

Biomedical Sciences admits a cohort of 50 students each fall. That is the only term students are admitted into the program. These students graduate the following summer.

The number of spots available in the Toxicology program is approximately 40-50 each year.

The Microbiology-Immunology program anticipates enrolling up to 50 students each year. The goal is to keep the program small enough to allow effective instructor interactions and quality learning experiences while also maintaining a critical mass of students for networking, support and overall programmatic impact on the field.

Does my Residency Status affect my Chance of Acceptance?

No. We don't base our admission decision on your residency status.

What Housing Options are Available?

There are lots of apartments, condos, and houses available to rent (or buy) in Fort Collins. Several websites have proven helpful to those looking for a place to live: Housing Helpers, Coloradoan, Off-Campus Life, Craigslist. Additionally, lots of students in the program meet up and make living arrangements at orientation. If you have more questions, please contact the contact person for the individual program in which you are interested.
