Required Math Placement Exam (MPE)

  • You must take the MPE prior to orientation
  • The MPE may be waived if you have documentation of AP/IB scores from 2015 or prior (2016 scores will not be posted in time), or applicable transfer math credit. Refer to the CSU Registrar for more information.
  • You will need to test out of MATH 117 and 118 (Algebra I and II) to register for your first Chemistry class.

Transfer Credits

Gather information on college coursework you have completed. This may include:

  • Transcripts from college coursework taken in high school should be submitted to CSU Registrar's Office.
  • AP or IB Scores from your junior year of high school should be submitted to CSU Registrar's Office.
  • Unofficial list of college coursework (course number and title) with grade earned and term taken. Bring copy of this with you to Ram Orientation.

Freshman Composition

Using your test scores, please determine if The Directed Self Placement Survey is needed to assess the appropriate composition course for you.

Registration Ready

  1. Login to the CSU's RamWeb portal with your CSU eID and password.
  2. Directly below your name on your homepage, you will see a Registration Ready section. You will be asked questions having to do with your anticipated graduation date, whether or not you would like to purchase health insurance through the University, confirming emergency contacts, etc. You may also be asked to complete other tasks, if they are applicable to you. The list of tasks in this section must be completed before access to registration will be allowed.
  3. You will be able to complete everything in RamWeb Registration Ready before Ram Orientation, except for your advising code; we will provide you with an advising code at Ram Orientation.
