Graduation Instructions for Graduates in Biomedical Sciences, Environmental Health, and Microbiology:

The Dean, Faculty and Staff of the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences rejoice with you on the forthcoming occasion of your graduation. Please read these guidance instructions carefully and advise your family and guests of those points that will allow them to celebrate this wonderful occasion with you.

Please note that graduate students (all MS and PhD students) from the College have their degrees awarded at the Graduate School Commencement Ceremony; see the CSU Graduate School website for more information.

Saturday, December 20, 2014
Lineup: 3:30 p.m., Lory Student Center, North Ballroom

We will begin promptly at 4 p.m. at the Lory Student Center. Therefore you must be in the lineup area far enough in advance to don regalia, check your name card, and receive instructions from the college marshals regarding the conduct of the ceremony.

You will receive your name card (containing the information from the questionnaire you completed with your home department through the graduation website; see your department graduation coordinator if you have questions) and lineup instructions from the College Marshals. During the ceremony, your name and the biographical comments on your card will be read as you cross the dais to be congratulated by your department head and the dean. Please arrive on time and interact with fellow graduates while we prepare to recognize you.

If you have not completed the online RamCT surveys, you must arrive by 3:15 p.m. (ramct.colostate.edu, Graduating Seniors).

Photography

Professional photos will be taken as (1) you are congratulated and (2) with your diploma cover. You will be contacted after the ceremony by the photographer (GradImages) with specific instructions on how to access and view photos should you wish to order prints. You should receive a free passport-sized digital proof on an order card within 5-7 days following the ceremony. After the ceremony you may order online or call 800-261-2576. Questions may be emailed to www.gradimages.com or call 800-261-2576. Questions may be emailed to service@gradimages.com.

Personal photos before, during and after the ceremony are encouraged. This is a time to remember! Please be considerate of other guests and graduates for photos taken during the actual ceremony but feel free to encourage family members to record this joyous occasion.

Regalia (Caps and Gowns)

Cap and Gown Distribution: Moby C-Wing (east side of Moby), 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on December 17-18, 2014. One hour prior to the ceremony, regalia issues can be addressed in the Lory Student Center on December 20, 2014.

Regalia Rental: No advance reservations are required for the rental of student cap and gowns. Undergraduate robes are black. Cum Laude graduates wear gold and University Honors Scholars wear green robes and a bachelor stole. All Cum Laude students MUST bring your letter from the Registrar's Office to claim appropriate regalia. Additionally, students may reserve and prepay for regalia through the CSU Alumni Association. Prepaid orders are packaged for pickup under the student's name. Suppliers will accept cash only for regalia rented onsite as opposed to a prepaid order. Students will be notified via email in the event of a price change from those below.

  • Bachelor of Science (full regalia): $22

  • Additional souvenir tassels (green/gold OR gold) $8

Bachelor awardees retain the cap and tassel and only return the gown.

Return gowns directly after the ceremony to Moby C-Wing (east side of Moby Complex). Late returns may incur a charge and should be sent directly to: Herff Jones – Returns; 1000 N. Market Street; Champaign, IL 61820.

Tassels: The Biomedical Sciences tassel is golden yellow. Tassels are always worn on the left and not switched during the ceremony.
