What happens once I receive an offer?
Candidates are specifically offered a position in the DVM/MBA program. If you receive an offer, you will not be further considered in the regular DVM admissions pool, regardless of whether you accept or decline your offer to the DVM/MBA program.
Before matriculation, if you withdraw your acceptance to the DVM/MBA program, you will have to re-apply for admission to the DVM program or the graduate school.
What kind of financial aid could I receive?
The College of Business offers assistantships for DVM/MBA students in Year 1 of their program who register for 8 or more credits (contact Sarah Chase, Ph.D. at sarah.chase@business.colostate.edu for more information about this opportunity). DVM/MBA students are given "first priority " for student hourly jobs at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. All veterinary students are eligible to apply for the competitive scholarships and awards in the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. Other scholarships and financial aid can be obtained through the Office of Student Financial Services.
If you obtain Colorado domicile (not the same as "residency"), it is possible to be admitted to the DVM portion of the program as a Colorado sponsored student.
Once I begin, what will my overall curriculum look like?
Your program is outlined as follows:
Year 1: Begin the MBA program
Years 2 & 3: Courses toward your MBA and your DVM
Years 4 & 5: Full-time course load toward your DVM
After successfully completing your first year of the MBA program you will be offered admission to begin your DVM. Your MBA degree is conferred up completion of your third year of the DVM/MBA program.
