Veterinary Educator and Scholarships (VETS) Program

This is a faculty developmnet in teaching program developed by a consortium of veterinary schools in the western US (CSU, UC-Davis, WSU, OSH, Western U). There are two sessionsbeing offered this summer:

VETS 1.0
  • Team-taught seminar that focuses on strategies for strengthening lecture-based instruction (seminar style setting)
  • Location: UC-Davis
  • Dates: June 23-24, 2019
  • Cost: CSU will cover registration and lodging (up to $300 total); you are responsible for travel costs
  • Presenters: Faculty from CSU, UC-Davis, WSU, OSU, and Western U

VETS 2.0 
  • Team-taught program that focuses on actively applying and practicing teaching strategies (workshop-style setting)
  • Location: UC-Davis
  • Dates: June 23-24, 2019

2019 Summer Conference Hosted by the Teaching Academy of the Consortium of Western Region Colleges of Veterinary Medicine

This is 3-day conference with the goal of bringing together educators from the five Western Consortium schools. The theme this year is: The Cognitive Integration of Basic and Clinical Sciences: Beyond the Buzzwords.

Best Practices in Teaching Workshop

This is 2-day (4 hours/day) workshop focused on foundational topics for teaching in lecture-based settings. Topics include:

1. Designing and delivering interactive lectures

onstructing learning objectives
3. Constructing and evaluating multiple-choice questions
