New for 2020, the goal of this book club is to dig into books focused on selected topics in education. We will work through books at a pace of one chapter a week. The book club is open to all graduate students and faculty.

The goal of these sessions is to create a space for conversation around research-based approaches to educating medical students. Selected topics from the medical education literature will be introduced with the goal of considering how the ideas may or may not fit in a veterinary context.

Short "Courses"

The goal of these sessions is to dig deeper into topics in teaching and learning. These sessions are more intensive and longer in duration and feel more like a short course (although these are not credit-bearing). 

Best Practices in Teaching

2-day (4 hours/day) workshop focused on foundational topics for teaching in lecture-based settings. Topics include:

  • Designing and delivering interactive lectures
  • Constructing learning objectives
  • Constructing and evaluating multiple-choice questions
