Are you engaged in any activity as a non-paid volunteer, service-learner, intern or extern dedicated to the AmeriCorps goals of: education, public health and safety, and community strengthening? If so, in addition to resume building, skill building or service learning your hours may earn
EDUCATIONAL DOLLARS as part of the
AmeriCorps Program.
AmeriCorps (a program often called the domestic ‘peace corps’) wants to engage and reward students investing in their communities. Many CVMBS students engage in unpaid activities to gain experience or credentials that could qualify as an AmeriCorps goal. If you qualify and participate in AmeriCorps for a documented 300 hour experience over a one year period, you can earn a $1000 voucher usable during the next 7 years at virtually any accredited school in North America.
CVMBS has 10 exclusive awards (each a $1000 educational voucher) for students in this college.
Talk with your home department key adviser for a referral to the CVMBS AmeriCorps Coordinator to see if your service can qualify you for an AmeriCorps appointment.
Accepting Applications January 2012 through March 2012.
