Application Process for U.S. Citizens

Application Deadline for Admission, Fall 2018 is December 15, 2017

U.S. Citizens or Permanent U.S. Residents

Your application to the MIP department will not be considered complete until all the documents have been uploaded to the application. Only those applications completed by the deadline date will be considered for admission.

Students are accepted for fall semester only.

Submit the Following:

  1. The online application. All of your application materials will be uploaded to the online application. You do not need to wait until all materials are received to submit the online application. In fact, it is recommended to submit the application as early on as possible, as this helps Admissions process and upload transcripts and other materials.

If you check yes to either question on the ‘Student Conduct’ page, please be aware that a review process concerning those items must happen, which can take several weeks.  It is highly recommended that you do not wait until the last minute to submit the application if this applies to you.

  2. Statement of Purpose.

  3. Resume or Curriculum Vitae.

  4. Three letters of recommendation. You will need to list your recommenders in the application; the application system will then email them instructions for uploading their letters.  It is still your responsibility to ensure that they submit their letters.

  5. GRE scores: GRE scores should be reported directly to CSU by Educational Testing Service (ETS). The institution code for CSU is 4075; no department code is needed. No subject tests are required. It takes at least 3-4 weeks for GRE scores to be delivered by ETS, please keep this in mind when ordering scores.

  6. Official transcripts from each university and/or college (including community colleges) you have attended or received credits from, including study abroad.  If you earned college credits during high school please indicate those on application on the ‘College Education’ page, transcripts for those credits may not be required. Official transcripts from Colorado State University are not required. Official electronic transcripts are accepted, use as the email address when requesting electronic transcripts. If your school(s) does not offer electronic transcripts, official paper copies should be mailed directly to the Admission Office at the address below.

For any documents that cannot be uploaded or sent electronically, submit paper copies directly to the Office of Admissions at this address:
