The Health Physics Society Student Chapter is a professional organization whose mission is excellence in the science and practice of radiation safety. Society activities include encouraging research in radiation science, developing standards, and disseminating radiation safety information. Society members are involved in understanding, evaluating, and controlling the potential risks from radiation relative to the benefits.
With Dr. Tom Johnson as the faculty advisor, Health Physics students have established an interactive health physics review program for individuals who want board certification. Students are responsible for developing course material and delivering lectures to an audience of 50, coming in on-line from around the world. Funds raised from the course are being used to cover the costs to attend professional annual meetings and student field trips to such places as the Los Alamos National laboratory in New Mexico.
Information and registration for the on-line course can be found on the CSU Online page - EDLL 2005 - Health Physics Exam Review
