ERL stallion barn

The ERL Stallion Barn comprises 1,200 square feet for semen collection, a barn to house 10 stallions for the breeding season, and expanded laboratory space for the processing, evaluation, freezing, and storage of semen. The stallion barn houses client stallions from around the nation as well as CSU-owned stallions.

Welcome to the ERL, Houston Shine!

The Equine Reproduction Laboratory has added Houston Shine to the stallion roster for 2016. The 2004 sorrel stallion is owned by Preston and Sheryl Mease of Grand Junction, Colo. He is by Hey Houston out of the Shining Spark mare, Shining Shiner. Houston Shine is still currently being shown in several AQHA Ranch Horse Versatility events, and qualified for the Select World in Ranch Riding. He has racked up 257 AQHA points, $70,000+ in NRHA money earned, and has produced several money earning foals. Additionally, he was shown in 2014 at the USEF Kentucky Reining Cup and finished Top Ten.
