April 5-6: James L. Voss Veterinary Teaching Hospital Open House
The Veterinary Teaching Hospital Open House is an annual event coordinated and run by Professional Veterinary Medical students. Open house events include special public seminars beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday; and fun and fascinating lectures, valuable information for aspiring-to-be veterinarians, demonstrations, tours through the hospital, and interactive displays about animals and veterinary medicine all day Saturday.
April 13-14: 74th Annual Conference for Veterinarians
The 74th Annual Conference for Veterinarians will kick off with breakfast on Saturday, April 13, 7 a.m., at the Hilton Fort Collins. The two-day program will include many VTH faculty members presenting the latest information and research on small animal, exotics, food animal and equine medicine. Registration is reaching capacity, so reserve your spot today!
April 14: 23rd Annual Conference for Technicians
The 23rd Annual Conference for Technicians will be held 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. CSU VTH faculty and technicians will present information and create an open forum for discussion on the latest information on small animal, exotics, food animal and equine medicine. Pre-registration is required for all veterinary continuing education conferences.
April 19: Rocky Mountain Reproductive Sciences Symposium
The annual Rocky Mountain Reproductive Sciences Symposium provides a forum for interacting and exchanging ideas and interests surrounding today’s topics in reproductive sciences. Event activities and keynote lectures will support this year’s theme of “Parturition and Pre-term Labor.” The event is from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, Colo.
April 26: Equine Reproduction Laboratory Grand Opening
The Equine Reproduction Laboratory invites you to the grand opening of its research, teaching, and clinical service flagship facility. The event begins at 4 p.m., with short remarks at 4:15 p.m. The grand opening features guided tours (until 5:15 p.m.) and refreshments. Due to space limitations, registration is required at
April 27: Fast and the Furriest 5K Run/Walk
The 10th Annual Fast and the Furriest 5K run/walk begins at 9 a.m. at the CSU Oval. This doggie/runner expo offers chip timing, doggie demos, awards, and giveaways. Kids will get to participate in fun activities, such as the 1K fun-run featuring the Easter bunny, music, face painting and more! Proceeds benefit the PVM Class of 2015 scholarship fund and provide financial support for VTH clients in need. Registration is now open.
April 27: Legends of Ranching and Special Showing of Horse Sense
The annual Legends of Ranching Performance Horse Sale caps a trademark education program in CSU Equine Sciences. In the program, CSU students have the unique opportunity to train well-bred young horses, taking the animals from barely halter-broken to working calmly under saddle. The Legends of Ranching Performance Horse Sale is held at the B.W. Pickett Equine Center, on Colorado State University’s Foothills Campus. The event will feature a special showing of the documentary Horse Sense, with introduction by Dr. Jerry Black, Director of the Equine Sciences Program and the Equine Reproduction Laboratory.

May 16-18: Spring 2013 Commencement
Join the Colorado State University for the Spring 2013 Commencement. The Professional Veterinary Medicine program, including hooding and graduation, will be on Thursday, May 16, 5:30 p.m., in Moby Arena. The Graduate School will hold its ceremony on Friday, May 17, 3 p.m., in Moby Arena. CVMBS undergraduate commencement will be on Saturday, May 18, 9 a.m., in the Student Rec Center.
